The reason it is symmetrical is that an authentic Coach bag is made from one bit of leather wrapped around, while knockoffs come up with bags from whatever pieces they can find to save lots of money.
2) One more thing is too have a consider the inside, and consider the lining. If the bag is a signature bag and it has the "C" print on the exterior, there will never ever be described as a "C" logo inside of a traditional bag. If a bag is just a plain bag with no "C" print then it may have one inside, but never both on the exterior and inside. This really is true for several sizes of bags, even their wallets. It might only have stripes of colors on the inside.

Also read the material, it should be flat, top quality leather. On many fakes ones it is puffy like it is stamped. And don't get worried if there is no creed in your bag, many of the smaller bags don't have any creed at all.
5)The next thing could be the zipper. Coach zippers are the greatest quality zippers, they need to last you a lifetime. That's why we pay so much for these bags, because it is something that may keep for the remainder of our lives. So just try the zipper, it should be getting caught or stuck, and should zip very smoothly.
6) Another segment is hardware, and that's any metal on a bag. On a traditional Coach bag, the metal is either nickel or brass and must have a weight to it. So if you're checking out the bag personally, feel the metal, does it feel like real metal, or simply metal-coated plastic. It should not be really shinny plastic looking. Also on eBay I always see the metal wrapped in plastic, a number of other brands do this on their bags to keep it scratch free until you see it home, but an actual Coach bag won't have the metal hooks and hardware wrapped in plastic.
7) Also another little thing is to check the buckle connecting any metal rings or hardware. It must be a great fit and not to loose. Lots of times I see on fake bags that there is a huge loop across the wring.
8) One more thing is to consider the tags. They now make metal tags so it may come in leather or metal now. They are also available in new shiny tags to ensure that can not be used anymore as a method to tell if its fake. But you should see the stitching on the tags and make sure its flawless. On a lot of fake tags the Coach logo could be crooked or the stitching will be weird.
