Born on June 27, 1972, Pierre Garand, known by his stage name Garou, is a French-Canadian singer, songwriter, musician and actor. He was first discovered in 1998 when he played the role of Quasimodo in the French musical theater. Even though this role was what made him a huge star in France, Garou’s love for music came from a very young age. He started playing the guitar at the age of 3. His very first album named “Seul” achieved more than 2 million sales in Europe alone, making it one of the best-selling French albums of all-time. Following that album, Garou released many others most of which became best-selling albums in different regions of the world. He started to organize worldwide tours and visited many countries where he brought on extraordinary shows. For the past 19 years, Garou has also taken part in the famous charity concert called: “Les Enfoirées” which aims to gather food and donations to the homeless people in France. During his career, Garou has collaborated with many spectacular artists such as Celine Dion, Michel Sardou, etc. He has also worked with many famous songwriters, including Jean-Jacques Goldman, Pascal Obispo, and others.
